Superfood Protein Sources

Protein is one of the staples of life. While many people consume protein on a daily basis, and often in high numbers, the quality is very often sacrificed.

Things like grain-fed beef, pasteurized dairy, and quite honestly sick chickens laying none other than sick eggs, is the norm in America.

Because diet is the foundation of where we need to start when attempting to improve our health, we first need to know what we should be looking for.

When looking for protein sources to choose from, always pick raw nuts and seeds (not roasted because they are the old rancid nuts), grass-fed, cage-free, and no hormone-added for your meats, and non-pasteurized or homogenized for cheese.

 

  • Cold-water fish – salmon, sardines, maui-mahi, mackerel, etc.
  • Eggs
  • Raw cheeses
  • Grass-fed meat
  • Game birds – pheasant, duck, goose, grouse
  • Whey protein- raw, grass-fed (our preferred source is from Isagenix)
  • Venison
  • Cottage cheese
  • Chicken and Turkey
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Lamb
  • Raw nuts and seeds: almonds, cashews, flax, hemp, pecans, pine nuts, macadamia, sesame seeds, sunflower, walnuts, etc.
