Superfood Fat Sources

Fat is a vital component to a healthy diet and a healthy body.

Unfortunately, most of the fat consumed by Americans is rancid, heated, and altered by man. With every cell membrane in the body being composed of fat, and all of the body’s hormones are made of fat and cholesterol, the consumption of HIGH QUALITY fats is critical.

ANYTHING that says trans fat, partially hydrogenated, or hydrogenated MUST be cut out of the diet. These are oils such as cottonseed oil, soybean oil, and vegetable oils. Trans fats such as margarine and the crazy synthetic butters that are now on the market along with Crisco. Rancid vegetable oils are the canola’s and corn oil’s. These oils won’t kill you quickly, but they will do you in over time.

The heated, hydrogenated trans fats MUST be replaced by good healthy fats that will nourish the body. The following is a quick list of excellent sources of fats.

 

  • Raw nuts and seeds: almonds, cashews, flax, hemp, pecans, pine nuts, macadamia, sesame seeds, sunflower, walnuts, etc.
  • Grass-fed meat
  • Cod liver oil
  • Olive oil, olives
  • Grapeseed oil
  • Avocado
  • Grapeseed oil vegenaise
  • Coconut milk, oil, and spread
  • Full fat plain yogurt
  • Cashew butter
  • Canned sardines in oil or water
  • Coconut or flakes
  • Hemp seed oil
  • Flaxseed oil
  • Almond butter
  • Butter
  • Real raw cheese
  • Full fat raw milk
  • Eggs
