Tongue tie surgeries are becoming increasingly more common.
At four months old this young girl had a tongue tie surgery. She was not nursing well and numerous people encouraged the mother to have her tongue tie removed.
Post-surgery all previous symptoms were the same, but now she was irritable all the time, had an extreme gag reflex and just wanted to lay on mother’s stomach for long hours of the day.
This went on for 8 months until I saw her.
I reasoned there was scar tissue from the surgery. The little girl wasn’t all that happy with me as I was releasing the scar tissue, but she got through it okay.
By the time mother and child got home she was a completely different girl. Not irritable anymore. More alert. Her gag reflex had diminished. And she nursed for the first time without struggle.
Her dad remarked that he had his little girl back.
She went on to nurse much easier as well and didn’t want to just lay around on mom’s stomach all day.
As of this writing I have seen a few of these. Another one involved a young boy who then developed daily headaches. Releasing the scar tissue immediately eliminated the headaches.
