About Dr. Brant

Hi, I’m Dr. Brant Larsen.

For as long as I can remember I have been absolutely fascinated with this machine we live in called the human body.

My first fascination was the bones and muscles of the body since I was an athlete. I wanted to know EVERYTHING. So I studied in my spare time. I was fascinated with the names of the different muscles. Names such as Sternocleidomastoid (a neck muscle), Gastrocnemius (your calf muscle), and even the muscles of your mouth and palate such as the Tensor Veli Palatini.

It all fascinated me.

And this mind you was at an early age. Late grade school, early middle school. I was hooked.

As time went on my fascination grew wider. I wanted to know answers to certain questions…

Questions such as:

“Why do I have such horrible sinus congestion and allergies?”

“Why do my ears always fill up with fluid and cause the eardrum to burst?”

“Why do I seem to get sick all the time?”

“Why can’t I train as hard as I want for sports? I seem to get injured.”

It was questions such as these that plagued me, but also drove me to learn more. I wanted to know why my dad could stand on a wagon behind a hay baler with virtually no problems. Yet when I attempted, within minutes I would be sneezing uncontrollably, and down for the count the rest of the day with extreme fatigue.

Surely there had to be a reason. And it didn’t make sense that it was “allergies”. Because it still begged the question…

WHY??

So on the quest to solve the riddle, my family and I were led to the medical doctor’s office. Allergy testing confirmed I had “allergies” to numerous trees, weeds, pollens, grasses, etc. So by my early teenage years I spent every Saturday morning in the clinic getting allergy shots.

Three shots each time. One in one arm, and two in the other. The next week it would switch arms. This went on for nearly three years. That, was a looooong three years. And I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. Being a human pin cushion is no fun at all.

Especially when you find out it doesn’t solve the problem.

Did it take the edge off a little? Maybe. Honestly, I can’t even really say it did that.

But that is how our journey’s go don’t they? The first place we turn to in times of health crisis is the medical system. The hospitals, clinics, medical doctors and all the various specialists.

But what I learned as a teenager is that I had no interest in this profession, although it’s a very noble one. Sure it helps fix broken bones and other serious accidents, but when it came to true HEALTH care it seemed to be failing miserably.

It wasn’t until a few years later that I found my career path and the techniques and strategies that would free me of my pain for good.

Real Natural Health Care

When I entered college my desire to learn more about the human body was at an all-time high. I wasn’t sure my exact career path, but I was leaning towards physical therapy or being some sort of personal trainer.

The internet and my new track career had a different path for me, however.

About this time, the internet was really starting to take off. All the info at the click of a button was fascinating. Kind of like you finding my website right now and reading these words. Simply amazing.

My first year of college I stayed at the computer lab for long hours going from one website to the next…

…and printing a whole ton of articles out. (the very next semester they started charging for printing!)

I was fascinated with the level of information I was learning. Sure, everything you read on the internet isn’t true, but it blew me away that “regular” people could start publishing information and putting it on cyberspace for everybody to see.

My first year of college was also my second year of track. I was always very fast growing up, and I went to the State tournament in the 100 meter dash and the long jump my senior year in high school… my first year in track.

But man was I a mess.

I may have been incredibly fast and strong, but I definitely had problems. My hips were very tight, especially my right one, which no amount of stretching could fix. And my hamstrings and lower back were also very tight.

Even though I was incredibly fast, it was as if I had the brakes on as well. A healthy muscle has power, but also flexibility.

Well, my promising track career didn’t last long. My very first meet in the indoor season ending on my second long jump attempt. On my takeoff I felt a sharp stabbing pull right behind and above my left knee.

I had pulled my hamstring.

I went to the athletic trainers, saw the physical therapists, medical doctors and whoever else they recommended, but I just couldn’t get my hamstring healthy enough to be a sprinter again.

I could run at about 95%, but in that last 5% I could feel my leg start to twinge and I had to shut it down. As you can imagine, without that top 5% speed, being a great sprinter is out of the question.

And so, I of course turned to the internet for answers.

And it’s here where I learned about new techniques of healing I had never heard of. To make a long story short, within the next year I had transferred schools and found a new doctor to go see. And that first visit with this physician (she was also a chiropractor) absolutely blew my mind. I knew I had found my calling.

She discovered things about my body that nobody had even considered before. Not medical doctors and not the other chiropractors I had already seen either. She found yeast and mold problems. Food sensitivities (this was before gluten free was in vogue). Nutrient deficiencies like zinc.

She also did extensive testing on my neuro-muscular system and found all sorts of imbalances. Essentially, my brain was not talking to my hip flexors, my glutes, my hamstrings, and numerous other muscles in my body.

I knew right then and there at that first visit I had to do this. It was above and beyond anything I had encountered before.

I went to chiropractic school on this doctors recommendation and immediately started learning other techniques not taught in school. I was on a mission.

Since that time I’ve continued to study, continued to learn, and continued to seek out other doctors for their knowledge and discoveries in the field.

If there is one thing I’ve learned over all these years, it’s the greatest advancements are NOT found in institutions, colleges, etc. They are found within the practitioners in the field. The men and women in the trenches working with patients daily, and discovering what is happening “In the Real World.”.

Organized education is important, but I have learned the most amazing techniques, strategies, and understandings from my peers.

So what do I have to offer you?

I offer a way out. A way out of your suffering. A way out of the current path you are on. A way out of the rollercoaster so many of my patients tell me they were on before they became a patient.

Can I help YOU?

I really don’t know. Not until we at least have a conversation and I do an exam.

Many people say we only have one time around this earth. One chance. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I do know that I’m going to live my life as if it were true, and I suggest you do as well. So that means never giving up on your dreams and your health goals. No matter how far off they seem.

Remember my “allergies”?

Well, years later I finally discovered the answer. And my “allergies” were literally gone in an instant. It took me over 20 years to find the answer. And I never gave up.

Why do I put “allergies” in quotes? Because it wasn’t really true. The truth is that I didn’t really have allergies at all. I was actually being poisoned from the inside out….

But when the “allergies” were finally gone….yikes. The clarity, the freedom from congestion. The increase in energy. The drastic decrease in facial tissue use in a year. No more itchy eyes, runny nose, and in general feeling miserable.

Priceless.

So I invite you to do the same. It doesn’t really matter what your condition might be or what label has been slapped on you. I don’t treat conditions or disease anyway. I work with YOU, and help you remove barriers to your healing. I just might be able to help.

I look forward to meeting with you.

P.S. I hope you enjoyed this “About” page more than others you have read. Most of them are boring. I could bore you with all the seminars and certifications I have. But that would be….

….just plain boring.

I’ll talk with you soon.
